The slight sound of activity outside of the ambulance caused me to wake up, and in an effort to not hurt Rylan’s shoulder, I slowly slipped away from her and got off the mattress. I picked up the gun.

“Ro, what’s wrong?” she asked.

“Shhh,” I said to her then I realized that she did not have on her panties and pants, so I quickly put them on for her. “Stay down,” I said then I picked up my phone and called Emilio.

“Hey, Rylan,” he said and I could hear his voice outside the ambulance.
